I got an Ion last year and used it a couple of times, but everytime it seemed like it just used tons of air, i was only getting like 500 shots per tank.  Is there any way to improve my guns air useage for an ion?  Also I can hear a faint air leak when airs hooked up, are there normally certain parts that need changed?

if the leak is down the barrel you might want to replace your o-rings. if the leak is somewhere else check for loose banjo fittings or hoses. also look for damaged banjo o-rings. now to get more shots per tank you need to replace your front banjo fitting with a qev(quick exhaust valve). once replaced you can lower your dwell setting to 16 to 20. this will allow your bolt cycle faster saving air. hope this helps

Virtue Ion is right, a QEV will DRAMATICLY improve efficeincy as well as shot-to-shot consistency. There are a variety of mods available for the Ion-firing cans/bolts/end caps, etc...

A good buy as well would be any of the aftermarket bolts available. They will all give you more shots per tank and better consistency over the chrono.

Also about the banjo fittings-BE CAREFUL HOW YOU SCREW THEM IN, DO NOT CROSS-THREAD THEM!!!! Once that happens, it can be difficult to get them re-tapped correctly. Check for excessive wear on the threads, that may explain your inside leak.
